François-Marie Voltaire was a writer, philosopher, poet, dramatist, historian and polemicist of the French Enlightenment. «La Henriade» is an epic poem and it was written in honour of the life of Henry IV of France. It also concerns the political state of France. It was first printed in 1723 and reprinted dozens of times within Voltaire's lifetime.
