Annotation

Guy de Chauliac (1300-1369) was the most eminent surgeon of the European Middle Ages, whose “Chirurgia magna” was a standard work on surgery until at least the 17th century. This work was translated into English, French, Dutch, Italian, and Provençal. The first printed edition has appeared in 1490. French edition was published in Lyon by Jean Falcon, professor of the Faculty of medicine in Montpellier.
